#Tomtom mysports connect desktop update
I needed it updated for recent trip - started update in plenty of time but no. It's only two years old, with lifetime maps included, so I expected better than this - in fact only days ago I received an email reminding me to update for free. Then, when it allegedly finished the update, the Tomtom screen says "no maps available". The update 'timers' jump about all over the place, from 44 mins - 3 mins - 12 hours - 17 hours - 19 hours. I have tried updating via MyDrive Connect on both macOS and Win7. Buy a Garmin instead - I have an old one which is just as good as the car system and the updates are easy.Īfter several days (and nights running) I am now on my FOURTH attempt to update my GO 500 device which says it has reached 81% updated but intends taking another 19 hours. huh?!!! How am I expected to use a case number if I can't even navigate your systems to contact you and if your system seems designed to stop people from contacting you? I think that I will give up. Now they have contacted me to say that I have 2 duplicate case numbers and I should use 180627-001991. When I replied as requested it sent the email back to me rather than them! So I eventually found somewhere on their labyrinthine website to register an issue, that is, after making several phone calls and them telling me to buy the incompatible update and refusing to give me either an email or even a postal address to be able to contact them about the issue. I had to reply to an "email" which they send you with a screen print of their promotional email. They asked me to send them a copy of the promo email (but will not out an email address). Tomtom had sent me a 30% off updates email - the update didn't work so after an hour or so on their website I eventually contacted them by phone. Not the poor telephone staff's fault, they just work for a rubbish company.

The telephone help-line (when you eventually find it hidden away) should be re-named 'the unhelpful line'. What an impossible task - and when you encounter difficulties updating, then the website is a waste of time. Avoid buying a Tomtom navigation system at all costs! Unfortunately mine came with the car (a Mazda) and after 3 years I thought I would update the maps.
